Heraclitus: Sea water is at once very pure and very foul: it is drinkable and healthful for fishes, but undrinkable and deadly for men.
One day I woke up and went to the deck and looked around. There were only water around me. I was in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. I really like to look at the seascape, and at that moment I started to think about life, and why everything around me is exists. When I looked into the water, I thought about life in it and why people can not just drink this water, while another type of Earth's inhabitant can live in this water.
Let's imagine, in the ocean, which is nearly twise bigger than Eurasia, there are a million types of plants, unexplored depths, billion types of small and big sea animals. And they are all live in this environ, feed and reproduce. But people just can look at them from outside, because human can not live in ocean and can not drink sold water. On this basis, the question is arise, how the same water can be very pure, habitant and in the same time foul, even fatal and unhabitant? In the words of Heraclitus we have two judgement: "Water is pure" and "Water is dirty". Same water has two characteristics: one of this has positive side and the second has negative side.
At that moment, when I saw in front of me the expanse of water it seemed like crystal clean water and I wanted to try it, because it seemed like the most tasty water, but when I tried, it was not what I am expected. And then I realized that same sea water had two different sides, which characterized him. First, it allows for some beings live in it, while this same water leads to death of a man, with this constant use and does not allow for a living. Also for fishes, for example, they are not able to live in the atmosphere and they can not breath with oxygen. But this oxygen is the main sourse of live for a human.
You can also consider all around with two different sides. From simple objects to human qualities and feelings. Take for example the strongest feeling that given for a human- love. Love is not rosy sun which is always shining and sparkling. It has sunrises and sunsets. When a person experiences this feeling, it feels like is filled with energy, like something is changing in him, and the whole world seems to him wonderful. But in an instant it can destroy everything and then everything becomes vice versa. Love turns to hate. Then we can see another side of this feeling.
Even in such a simple thing that we use every day- coins, we can see two different sides. Althought the coin is same, his sides are not similar to each other. And we just look at it from different sides. It seems like in phraseologism "two sides of the same coin," which means "different, diametrically opposite manifestations of one entity, inseparable from each other." For example, life and death, day and night, as well, and the man himself, even the planet Earth rotates on its axis, when viewed from space it has a light and a dark side.
On the other hand, if we return to ocean, may be it is better that human can not comprehend it, also drink sea water and live in it. Because human will not be able to destroy the nature marine environment, and the life in the depth of the ocean. And this environment will stay far from human. Consequentially, I had a thought, perhaps everything what happens with us is not in vain, perhaps the Creator made it so, that everything has two sides, and for example the fact that sea water is not nutritious and is detrimental to the person, shows that the human is not omnipotent, and pacify his ardor.
And at the end of my work, I would like to say, though Heraclitus maybe not were always right, and we heard only part of his work, but this phrase contains a great potential for reflection, the result of which may be very correct inferences, relating to various spheres of our life.
