Despite rumors that circulated social media earlier this week, EA continues to plan to launch two updates to Madden 22's franchise mode. The company reiterates what it says is its commitment to Madden as a live service game.
In a recent statement, EA Sports told IGN: We do not like to comment on rumors or speculation; however, we're committed to enhance Franchise as a component of the ongoing Madden NFL 22 live experience and beyond. It includes two upcoming Franchise updates that we'll deliver with Madden NFL 22. We'll have more information about the updates during the new year.
The statement follows a report by Sports Gamers Online that EA had decided to scrap any additional Franchise mode update for Madden 22. The IGN report was based on an video interview of Madden 22 chief producer Seann Graddy.
Graddy declared that the current content strategy is "slightly smaller than the ones of years in the past" due to the fact that the team is concentrated on a few important areas instead of trying to launch new content in the manner of Superstar KO, a well-received arcade mode launched in Madden 20.
"I believe that the roadmap is] perhaps a little smaller than the previous ones since we're focusing on a handful of core aspects within Madden 22 and also getting going on Madden 23 in a big way," Graddy said at the time. "So I will stand by what we've always stated over during the last two years"We're a live-streaming service and we'll keep updating Madden, however we're definitely not planning to talk about a brand new mode."
